This traditionally designed and constructed tool box is made from poplar using hand tool methods of work. The case is constructed with mitered dovetails and a floating rebated bottom panel with applied ogee base molding. The top is made using frame and panel construction with bridal joints (open mortise and tenon) and a floating tongue and grove panel. The panel stands proud and features a chamfered edge. The top and case are fitted with a lipped beaded molding that forms a tight seal.
The interior is fitted with three sliding tills: One for saws, one for planes, and one for chisels. The saw till measures 26 1/2” wide by 3 1/2” deep by 6” high , the plane till measures 26 1/2” wide by 3” deep by 5 1/2” high, and the chisel till measures 26 ½” wide by 1 3/4” deep by 5 1/2” high.
